Terms of Service
Draft – for legal review. Not yet in force. Version 0.1, 17 October 2026.
These terms apply to products and services sold on batterysorted.com.au by New Tech, ABN 70 684 317 424 ("BatterySorted", "we"). Contact: hello@batterysorted.com.au. By buying, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Our services
- SortedDIY Basic / Mid / Pro: an automated report from your data and quotes; Mid adds the Kit (digital files); Pro adds a written value review of up to 3 quotes by a licensed electrician.
- SortedDesign: a remote, data-driven battery (and solar) design specification, report and call.
- SortedVetting (only with Pro or SortedDesign): contacting two companies you name, with your written authorisation, plus a background and financial-risk rating.
- SortedService (on-site, Gold Coast & SE QLD): Solar Health Check, Post-Install Check and quoted repairs. Each service page describes deliverables, turnaround targets and scope limits, which form part of these terms.
2. Payment
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and appears on your statement. Prices are in AUD [confirm GST treatment]. Repairs are priced by a separate written quote and invoiced separately.
3. What our advice is, and isn't
- Our reports, reviews, designs and ratings are general information and professional opinion based on the information you provide and public sources at the time. They aren't personal financial advice, and they don't guarantee savings, payback, prices, performance or rebate eligibility.
- Cost and margin estimates in SortedDIY Pro are informed estimates from typical market costs, not statements of an installer's actual costs or profits.
- SortedVetting ratings are our opinion at the time of checking and don't guarantee whether a company will stay in business or honour warranties.
- Solar Health Check and Post-Install Check findings are our professional opinion from the inspection on the day. They aren't an electrical safety certificate, certificate of compliance, regulator inspection, structural inspection or manufacturer warranty assessment. Your installer remains responsible for design, installation and compliance.
- We don't negotiate with installers, accept offers, or sign anything for you, and we take no commissions, per-lead fees or paid rankings.
4. Your responsibilities
Give us accurate, complete information and only upload files you're entitled to share. For on-site services, provide safe access, secure pets, and tell us about known hazards. We may decline or stop a visit if it's unsafe. You decide what to buy and who to engage.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Our goods and services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service, you're entitled to cancel and get a refund, or compensation for the reduced value. You're also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Beyond your ACL rights: - Automated report / Kit: if we haven't delivered yet, you can cancel for a full refund. - Pro, SortedDesign, SortedVetting: full refund before work starts; after that, a pro-rata refund for work not yet done [confirm]. - On-site visits: free reschedule or cancellation up to [48 hours] before the visit; later cancellations or no access on arrival may incur [a fee, to confirm]. Full refund if your address turns out to be outside our service area. - SortedDesign monthly cap: if we can't schedule your design, you can choose the next slot or a full refund.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law (including the ACL), and except for liability that can't be excluded: - our total liability for any claim relating to a service is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or refunding the price you paid for it; [legal review: cap amount and wording for on-site services/repairs, aligned with insurance]; - we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for losses caused by decisions or work of installers, retailers, manufacturers or other third parties, or by inaccurate information you gave us. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the ACL.
7. Repairs
Repairs are carried out only under a separate written quote that you accept, by a licensed electrical contractor, with the workmanship warranty stated on the quote. Any relevant relationships of the person doing the work (e.g. employment by an electrical business) are disclosed on the quote.
8. Intellectual property
Reports, designs, the Kit and our checklists are licensed for your personal, non-commercial use. Please don't resell or publish them. You can share your report with installers you're considering.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them for future orders; the version at the time of purchase applies to your order.
