BatterySorted (batterysorted.com.au) is operated by New Tech, ABN 70 684 317 424 ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). 1. What we collect

We generally don't need sensitive information (APP definition). Please don't send it.

2. Why we use it

To deliver what you bought (reports, reviews, designs, inspections, vetting, repair quotes); to communicate with you about your order; to improve our tools (using de-identified, aggregated data only); to meet legal, insurance and record-keeping obligations; and, if you opt in, to send rebate and guide updates (unsubscribe any time).

We never sell your information, and we never pass your details to installers or anyone else for marketing or leads.

3. Contacting installers on your behalf (SortedVetting)

We only contact companies you name in a signed written authorisation. We share only your name, the site address and the quote reference with those two companies, for the limited purpose stated in the authorisation. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

4. Company background and credit checks

For SortedVetting, we obtain commercial information about the companies you name: commercial credit reports via a licensed credit-reporting reseller (e.g. CreditorWatch), ASIC, PPSR and ABN records, insolvency notices, and licence/accreditation registers. We do not run personal credit checks on individuals or directors. We give you only our own derived rating (Pass / Caution / High risk) and reasons; we don't share the raw reports, as the providers' terms prohibit it.

5. Who we share information with

6. Storage, security and retention

Data is stored with reputable providers with access controls. We keep order records for 7 years (tax law), and energy data, quotes and site photos for [2 years] after your order, then delete or de-identify them unless you ask us to delete them sooner (subject to legal obligations). [Legal review: retention periods.]

7. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access or correct your information, or delete it, by emailing hello@batterysorted.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we handled a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Data breaches

We'll follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where it applies.

9. Changes

We'll post any updates here, with the date.
